Self-Awareness

A lot of us like to think we possess self-awareness. The truth is that’s a lie we tell ourselves. Self-awareness requires self-reflection on a monthly, weekly, and sometimes daily basis. It’s something we do in our professions so why not with ourselves? In business, we conduct business reviews. In the military, we hold after-action reviews. The end result remains the same for both… To analyze lessons learned from past successes and failures and using that info to set makers for better future outcomes. This methodology can and should be applied to your successes and your failures. Take time, 15-30 mins, out of your so-called “busy day” to evaluate why you are where you are in life. Understand yourself on an intimate level and stop allowing your subconscious from dictating your path in life. It’s time to start taking personal inventory and give yourself the attention it deserves!
